Holly Berkley graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Tech in May of 2011. She received a B.S in Psychology, a minor in medicine and Society, and a Scholar in health Studies honor diploma. In the spring of 2010, she studied at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic and earned a Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA). Her interest in teaching grew as she taught English to Haitan children using Skype and as a conversation partner for a Chinese student at Virginia Tech. Holly is currently an intern at the U.S Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C. There, she works in the office of the assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) with a team that focuses on disaster behavioral health. Upon return from her Fulbright experience in Malaysia, Holly plans to pursue a carrier in medicine with a particular focus on pediatrics and international health.
